HISTORY & Logo

The Singapore Association of Administrative Professionals [formerly known as Singapore Association of Personal & Executive Secretaries] was formed in 1971 under the patronage of the late Mr Elias Pereira, Director of Stamford College, who felt that an organisation was needed in Singapore to look into the needs and interests of the secretarial profession. An Inaugural Meeting was held on 15 May 1971 and the Association was registered on 30 October 1971.

The Association's name was changed in 2005 to reflect the changing role of secretaries that has evolved over the years with increased responsibility and authority in the key areas of administrative management.

The SAAP logo design concept is based on the rare and distinctive four-leaf clover and expressed through the symbolism of four keyboard keys reflecting symmetry, unity, efficiency and professionalism. The floral derivation of this design is further expressed through the use of a warm orange-red colour.
